Most of these images were shot on Outer Banks, NC just before the sunrise while it is still dark. Avon fishing pier provides the prop and the sky provides light show. Set the tripod and camera, watch the sky and breaking surf. The sky goes through many colors until it gets almost light. Then the sun is making its appearance above the horizon and the show is over.
But not always. If there are clouds on the horizon, they make the show even more spectacular. Finally the sun shows up in full force and it is time to pack and go for breakfast.
